Industrial Area North of UsThis factory is in the industrial area just north of our
neighborhood at the bottom of the hill; it used to warehouse parts for Studebaker cars, and still has huge terra-cotta logos to that effect. It contained the world's first nuclear gas diffusion plant, instrumental in making the atomic bomb. There used to be some serious
shipping at the 125th St. piers, and a monumental gas storage tank, long since vanished to deindustrialization.
