Unbuilt: East Campus Towers (1990)

This design was by David Childs of the famous firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He designed Worldwide Plaza in midtown and the new Penn Station in the former General Post Office. The whole existing Law School complex would have been ripped up. These towers are not bad in themselves, but totally domineering and inappropriate for the modest scale of this site. The University had a whole series of odd plans drawn up at this time to deal with East Campus.
